Priyank Chhipa is an experienced Engineering Manager of NLP in Bixby Voice Team at Samsung Research - Bangalore with over 8 years of experience in Natural Language Understanding and Response Generation focused on Voice Assistants. He completed his Masters in Computer Science (ML) from Georgia Institute of Technology and Bachelors of Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Priyank's interests lie in Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning, Explainable AI, and Machine Learning. He has a strong background in NLP, ML, Senior Software Engineering, Mobile, Computer Vision, AI, Deep Learning, Research Scientist, NLU, Python, Java, test, Data Scientist, and Neural Networks. In his current role as Senior Chief Engineer at Samsung, Priyank is responsible for leading the development of the On-Device Bixby project, including Scrum, SCM, and E2E project development. He has also developed a Multi-Modal Object Recognition module with Image and Test with research in various aspects of Early Fusion and Late Fusion. In his past roles at Samsung, he has developed On-Device solutions for Voice Assistants, researched and implemented Text Classifier based on Deep Neural Networks for 60+ Apps supported in Bixby, and improved Word Embeddings using character features to solve the unknown word feature problem frequently observed in text classifier for User input based NLU systems.
