Prof. Arnab K Laha is an accomplished academician and business analyst with over 38 years of experience in the field. He is currently an Associate Professor at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, where he specializes in Business Analytics, Quality Management, and Risk Management. Prof. Laha is a thought leader in the application of analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence in solving complex business and societal problems. Prof. Laha has published over 25 papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals and has authored the popular book "How to Make the Right Decision" published by Penguin-Random House. He has been named as one of the "20 Most Prominent Analytics and Data Science Academicians in India" by Analytics India Magazine in 2018 and was previously named amongst India's best business school professors by Business Today and Business India. He is also the editor of the book "Advances in Analytics and Applications" published by Springer. Prof. Laha has a keen interest in the applications of analytics and AI in the healthcare domain and is currently an Associate Editor of Statistical Analysis and Data Mining: The ASA Data Science Journal. He is also a member of the Governing Council of Insurance Information Bureau of India and the FICCI Healthcare Committee and GeM Analytics Committee. Prof. Laha has conducted a large number of training programs and undertaken consultancy work for organizations such as Genpact, Life Insurance Corporation of India, Cummins India, L&T, Essar Group, Ambuja Cements, Meril Life Sciences, Indian Oil, Lupin, Zydus, Tata Power, Tata Tea, SAIL, Siemens, Exide, and CESC Limited. Prof. Laha's educational qualifications include a B.Stat, M.Stat, and Ph.D. in Statistics from ISI, an MBA in Management from IGNOU, and AISSE + AISSCE in Science from Hindi High School (presently Birla High School) Kolkata. He is a Data Scientist, AI, ML, and Research Scientist with a rich experience of almost four decades.
