Prof. Arun Sharma is a highly accomplished academician with over 25 years of experience in teaching, research, and management. He is currently serving as the Professor and Head of AI and Data Sciences, Dean-Examination Affairs, and Director - Accreditation, NIRF, and IQAC at Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women. He completed his Ph.D. from Thapar University after obtaining an M.Tech. degree from Punjabi University and an MSc from IIT Roorkee. Prof. Sharma's research interests include Machine Learning, Software Engineering, Soft Computing, and Database Systems. He has published over 100 papers, including 20 in SCI Indexed Journals and 70 in SCOPUS Journals like ACM, Springer, Elsevier, Wiley, and others. He has authored two books and edited three books, along with several chapters in edited books. Prof. Sharma has supervised ten PhD students and is a Senior Member of IEEE and Life Member of Computer Society of India. He is also a member of the Editorial Board and Review Committee of several Journals. Prof. Sharma has delivered numerous invited talks on Autonomic Computing, Soft Computing, and Software Engineering issues at various institutions, including in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Dubai. In 2013, he was included in Who's Who in the World by Marquis, USA, and was awarded by CSI for his significant contribution in 2018. He has also served as the Convener/Organizing Secretary for several International conferences, technically sponsored by IEEE, Springer, Taylor and Francis, and others. Currently, Prof. Sharma is the Coordinator of the Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence, established with a grant of Rs. 8.02 Cr. from DST, GoI at IGDTUW. He is also a member of the BoS, Academic Council, and Board of Management at IGDTUW. Prior to joining IGDTUW, he worked as a Professor at Amity and a Project Engineer at CDAC. Prof. Sharma's technical expertise includes AI and ML, and he has 19.69 years of relevant experience. His intellectual, interpersonal, and managerial skills have been demonstrated through his various roles, ranging from Lecturer to Professor and from Head of the Department to Dean, Director, and Managing Director.
