Punit Ojha is a Final Year Electrical Engineering Undergrad at IIT, Bhubaneswar, with a keen interest in software development and machine learning. With a presence on various competitive programming platforms, Punit is proficient in Data Structures and Algorithms, and has honed his problem-solving skills by participating in various competitive programming contests. Punit has a particular interest in Machine Learning, both from the theoretical as well as applied point of view. He has experience in developing real-world, high performance, deployable Deep Learning models, and is currently looking for roles that heavily demand applying Math, Algorithms, and Research. Specifically, he is looking for opportunities that lie at the intersection of Applied Mathematics, Algorithms, and Machine Learning. Punit has read various research papers in the past and implemented the ideas of a few of them with custom tweaks to reproduce the results of those papers as part of both personal and professional projects. Punit is well versed in software development with applied knowledge of frontend tools like HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and various open-source libraries, and is currently exploring the field of Backend Development using NodeJS, ExpressJS, and MongoDB. He is a Software Development Engineer at RingCentral, where he works as a member of the India Integration Team as a backend developer. Punit has improved the overall quality of the project by implementing features as per requirements and performed Software Testing to resolve various bugs in the system. Punit has also worked as a Summer Research Intern at Tata, where he developed a Real-Time Human-Computer Interaction System using Hand Gestures. He created a custom dataset of static and dynamic gestures according to the use case and trained and tested a variety of Neural Networks (3DCNN, LSTMs) to get improved real-time performance. Punit developed a lightweight, low latency, deployable system that detects gestures in real-time and achieved categorical accuracy of 97.2% on the Test Set. Punit is a Software Engineer, Research Scientist, and Backend Developer with relevant experience of 0.54 years. He is looking for challenging roles in the software industry that require problem-solving skills, applied mathematics, algorithms, and machine learning.
