Rachana Balakrishnan is a highly skilled Technical Consultant with expertise in digital payments in banking and automated fare collection systems. She has a successful history of delivering mission-critical projects on schedule and is skilled in testing, software, and database development. With over 13 years of relevant experience, Rachana is a strong communicator with a customer focus and is experienced at building positive relationships with clients and internal teams. She is a highly adaptable individual focused on creating innovative solutions to problems faced by business units through collaborative partnerships and an open mind towards new technologies. Currently, Rachana is working as a Senior Technical Consultant - EMV at UL Solutions. In her current role, she analyzes test results and investigates issues encountered during testing and certification of payment terminals and cards for Global payments schemes like Visa, Mastercard, etc. on behalf of Merchants/Acquirers and Issuers. She also performs Card Personalization Validation and Mastercard Terminal Integration Process Certifications for Mastercard scheme and is involved in quality control for these certifications. Additionally, Rachana performs L3 EMVCO Testing for the Saudi MADA Scheme, supports International Banks with the launch of Mobile wallet projects, and documents internal processes and knowledge base. She also provides technical assistance to the customer and sales team. Prior to her current role, Rachana worked as a Senior Technical Consultant and Technical Consultant - Automated Fare Collection System at UL. In her past roles, she played an active role in fare change of nol scheme (Fare Collection smart card in Dubai public transit) in 2014 and was an expert in UL Conclusion Test Manager, Mantis, Jira. She also played an important role in the quality assurance and consultancy during the roll-out of nol cards for use in Tram, Taxi, and Public Parks. Rachana has also worked as a Test Consultant in the Roads and Transport Authority Dubai in Automated Collection System department. Rachana holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Cochin University and has completed her schooling from Sacred Hearts Girls High School. Her tech stack includes test, integration, mobile, and QA.
