Rachele Moresi is a full-stack engineer with 13.37 years of relevant experience in software engineering, design, and testing. She is currently working as an Engineering Manager at Thorn, a purpose-driven nonprofit organization that protects children from trafficking and exploitation. Rachele is passionate about making a positive impact in the world and is open to connecting with tech leaders, founders, software engineers, and designers who share her vision. Rachele has a diverse skill set and has worked with various technologies such as Javascript, PHP, Web, Neo4j, Hadoop, Spring Boot, Spring, Microservices, Scala, Java, and AngularJS. In her previous role as a Software Developer at Monsanto Company, she was part of an agile team that built microservices to fuel research that is feeding the world. She was involved in building RESTful services, designing responsive UIs, handling data in Hadoop, Neo4j, and PostgreSQL, and innovating new projects. Rachele is also a Teaching Fellow at LaunchCode, where she helps coordinate and mentor adult learners in introductory computer science and programming in C and web technologies. She loves lecturing and helping students find their passion, hone their skills, and get unstuck. She is keeping in touch with her students and advising them as they continue learning and work toward getting their first jobs in the field. She plans to teach again in the future. Rachele values work-life balance and is not likely to leave for a corporate application development environment, a contract-to-hire position, or something that will require relocation or long hours. However, she is open to recommending more junior folks for interesting roles with sharp upward trajectories and is welcoming to folks with diverse backgrounds. Rachele is a mentor to former students from LC101 and CoderGirl and Aspirations in Computing Awardees who may be graduating and looking for their perfect 1st or 2nd job.
