Rafay Zafar is an experienced Full Stack / DevOps engineer with a diverse skill set and a deep understanding of MEAN stack, CI/CD systems, and cloud platforms. With over 10 years of relevant experience, he is always looking for new challenges and opportunities to learn and hone his skills. Currently, he is working as a Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead at xgrid.co, where he has worked on a variety of projects, including the end-to-end MEAN stack implementation for a competitive platform for coders and programmers, the API backend for a release tracking and health monitoring and visualization solution, and the API server in Node JS and UI in Angular 7 for an orchestration and deployment tool that spins up customized virtual machines on the cloud (VMware) containing the network automation tool. Before joining xgrid.co, Rafay worked as a Technical Marketing Engineer at plumgrid inc., where he pioneered the Technical Marketing team and laid the foundation for the previously non-existent product documentation process. He assembled and led the Technical Marketing team, which was responsible for product documentation and additional collateral for all plumgrid products. He also participated in the design and management of the plumgrid Customer Portal and implemented a restructured text documentation platform, Sphinx, for the creation of web-based (HTML) documentation. He created style sheets in CSS for the HTML-based documentation and led the migration of the documentation process from a distributed setup to a central Gerrit repository. Prior to plumgrid inc., Rafay worked as an Assistant Manager at the National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM), where he gained extensive hands-on experience in hardware design engineering. He worked on several projects, including the implementation of Packet Process System for IPSec on FPGA, the implementation of SATA Controller to interface SATA device with FPGAs, and the implementation of Packet Processing for 1G and 10G networks using FPGA. Rafay holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from the National University of Science and Technology. He is skilled in software engineering, backend development, NodeJS, UI, AngularJS, CI/CD, testing, AWS, frontend development, Jenkins, Kubernetes, DevOps, Azure, integration, and web development. With his diverse skill set and experience, Rafay is a motivated and hard-working individual who can easily switch context depending on the task at hand.
