Raghunath Subramanian is a Senior Cyber Defense Lead at Swiss Re with a proven track record of delivering practical solutions to complex cybersecurity challenges. With almost five years of relevant experience, Raghunath has developed a risk assessment tool and conducted risk assessments for various agencies across different sectors. He is adept at using ISO-27000 and NIST 800-53 guidelines to ensure that critical information systems are secure. Raghunath has worked as a Cyber Security Analyst at the Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology (DOIT), where he was responsible for reviewing vulnerability scan reports and creating corrective action plans based on IRS SCSEMS. He also developed a SOC template for SOC1 and SOC2 review and a System Security Plan template for all critical information systems. Additionally, he worked as a RACF administrator for mainframe systems and created baselines for password strength and data retention using FIPS-199 and FISMA framework. Before joining DOIT, Raghunath worked as a System Engineer at TCS, where he was responsible for developing a new workflow for different travel types and enhancing existing procedures and functions used in the interface in the back-end (database). He also worked in ETL processes using Informatica tool and carried out testing using Selenium tool. Raghunath holds a Master's degree in Management Information Systems, General from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Pillai Institute of Information Technology. His tech stack includes SQL, Selenium, ETL, and Backend. Raghunath is a result-oriented individual who meets challenges head-on and delivers practical solutions. He is optimistic yet realistic in assessing the current situation and bringing about solutions.
