Raghuram Kamath is a Wireless Systems Engineer with over 13 years of experience in the industry. He is currently working at Meta, where he is passionate about tackling challenging VR/AR connectivity problems. Raghuram is a technical leader with a proven track record of owning key wireless development projects and coming up with innovative solutions to tackle difficult wireless design issues. Prior to his current role, Raghuram worked at Apple as a Wireless/RF Systems Engineer, where he drove critical wireless system development efforts for various Apple products. He collaborated with external vendors and internal design teams to improve the overall system wireless performance. Raghuram also engineered the conceptualization, bring-up, and optimization of key features that greatly improved wireless performance. He collaborated with several internal cross-functional teams to analyze field issues/customer complaints and develop solutions to address them. Raghuram also explored investigations into new technologies to evaluate potential wireless productization opportunities for longer-term projects. During his time at Apple, Raghuram made key contributions in the wireless domain to the Apple-Google COVID-19 contact tracing solution. His contributions led to four patents (three issued, one published) in the wireless domain. Before joining Apple, Raghuram worked at Qualcomm as a Wireless/RF Systems Test Engineer. He was responsible for performance characterization efforts in key areas like Throughput, Rate v/s Range. Raghuram also drove competitor analysis to help gauge the technical landscape and suggested improvements. He interfaced with the Systems and Software teams to fine-tune PHY/FW based features which were in early evaluation phases. Some of the features included Antenna Diversity, Beamforming, and MIMO. Raghuram holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (Wireless Communications) from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from the University of Mumbai. He is skilled in test, SDET, and EVM.
