Rahul Ambavat is an Applied Scientist 2 at Microsoft, with over 6 years of experience in research, software engineering, search and backend development. He is always on the lookout for opportunities that enable him to make an impact and/or facilitate learning. Currently, Rahul is working with the Speech Recognition team at Microsoft, where he is responsible for developing and shipping models for 13 Indian languages. He contributes mainly to the language modelling aspects of the ASR pipeline. In the past, Rahul has worked with the retail team of Bing search engine, where he was responsible for maintaining the shopping vertical on bing.com in the US and GB market. He was in the back-end service layer and implemented various features on the bing shopping results page from scratch, such as the personalization module, filters, shopping home page, etc. He also contributed to experiences on the search results page of bing, like the task pane that triggers for retail entity queries, entity comparison experience and fact answer promotion. Rahul completed his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani in 2017. His tech stack includes research scientist, software engineer, search, and backend development.
