Rahul Dange is a seasoned electrical engineer with over 6 years of experience in system integration, controls, and functional safety. He currently works as a Software Integration Engineer for Chassis Controls at Tesla, where he leads the Vehicle Integration Team and mentors the Functional Safety team. Rahul has a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Michigan Technological University and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical Engineering from the College of Engineering. He has a strong technical background and expertise in integration, which is reflected in his Tech Stack. In his current role at Tesla, Rahul has completed the design, development, integration, and releases of electrical/electronic systems, controllers, and components for 18 base technology platforms for motorcycle joint ventures. He has also developed cost-effective vehicle integration solutions for drive-by-wire engine controller, headlamp electronics, starter motor, and magneto design, resulting in significant cost reductions and improved performance. Rahul has initiated new projects aiming at future regulations such as Immobilizer systems, Emission norms BS06, Euro V, and OBD II. He has also mentored the Functional Safety team for ISO26262 compliance, which involves HARA, FMEDA, DIA, FSC, and other safety-related activities. Prior to his current role, Rahul worked as a Vehicle Engineering Intern for ADAS and Passive Safety Validation at Tesla. He also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Control Systems at Michigan Technological University, where he taught classical controls lab to 3 batches of 46 students that involved a mathematical formulation of control problems, analysis of feedback control systems, analog and digital simulation, and experiments with physical systems using MATLAB, Simulink, DSpace, and analog circuits.
