Rahul Karmshil is a seasoned professional in software development and engineering leadership with over 17 years of relevant experience. He has gained experience at both large established organizations like Amazon and an upcoming startup, Flipkart, that grew to become a multi-billion-dollar company. Currently, Rahul is working as a Software Development Manager at Amazon, leading multiple teams that are building the sub-ledger and the data exchange platform for all of accounting data within the Amazon retail ecosystem. Rahul has experience in managing high-velocity teams and delivering complex services for data processing, storage, and reconciliation systems with 100% guarantees with data volumes up to 180M lines per hour. He has also managed teams delivering AWS-based accounting sub-ledger systems and related control systems. Rahul has delivered on high impact business on-boardings on the reconciliation platform that constitutes 40% of the total incoming retail transactions. He has also ideated, proposed, created funding, and delivered a brand new product for creating an immutable system of transactional data that can be used for reconciliation and data audits. Rahul has hired, mentored, and grown the team, groomed new leaders, and managed a low performer and turned him around as a successful highly valued engineer. Rahul has worked as a Software Development Manager at Amazon Appstore, where he took up the DataLake project that was just getting ideated. He proposed on building a configurable, multi-tenant data system that all of Appstore and Alexa can be onboarded to. Rahul grew the team to 12 members from the initial 2 in the next 6 months. He also worked with the team to design the new data lake system built on AWS technologies (Lambda, Kinesis, S3, EDP, EMR, Redshift, Spark/Scala). Rahul deprecated the old reporting system that was built on Oracle with over 40 TB of data and 200+ datanet jobs and deprecated legacy Oracle based analytics platform. Rahul has also worked as an Engineering Manager at Flipkart, where he led a team of software engineers to develop the accounting software for the retail arm of Flipkart. This team enabled the invoicing and reporting of procured goods, goods sold, and the material accounting for all of Flipkart inventory. Rahul managed and led the team of SDEs and support engineers, sprint planning, quarterly and long term OKR definition, and resource planning. He delivered sustainable, scalable, high quality, and
