Rahul Malviya is a highly skilled Software Engineer with 7.70 years of relevant experience. He is an alumnus of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi where he pursued his Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science. Currently, he works as a Senior Software Development Engineer at Elara, where he has complete ownership of seller relevance on the Makaan platform. He has built several systems to rank sellers based on benefits purchased, control lead quality, and restrict calls and leads, among other features. He has also built customised pricing systems for sellers and a model to generate revenue from owners on Makaan. Additionally, he has integrated Aerospike as cache in trends service to reduce its latency. In his previous roles at Elara, Rahul has worked as a Member of Technical Staff and Intern. As a Member of Technical Staff, he had complete backend ownership of search for Makaan and Proptiger. He also extended Proptiger's search for the new real estate platform Makaan and helped in solving Solr scaling problems by tuning CMS garbage collector. He built Solr log replayer, with functionalities to replay solr get and post logs, and a system to penalize sellers on Makaan platform. He also separated out notification microservice from a larger application. As an Intern, he designed and implemented the search for the website using open source search server Apache-Solr and Java. He also wrote a new query parser in Solr on top of the existing DisMax query parser to implement a search time scoring of the documents. The CTR of selected results increased from 65% to 85%. Rahul's tech stack includes Software Engineering, Search, Microservices, Backend, and Java.
