Rahul Sharma is a highly accomplished strategist, business and change leader, design thinker, cloud enthusiast, and tech evangelist. He is currently serving as the President for Amazon Web Services (AWS) for India and South Asia (AISPL), where he leads the organization's overall strategy and growth in the region. Rahul is an elected member of the NASSCOM Executive Council and nominated as a governing member of the NASSCOM Sector Skills Council. With over 27 years of relevant experience, Rahul has a proven track record of driving business growth and profitability across diverse industries and service lines. Before joining AWS, he managed the Distribution Sector for IBM GBS Asia Pacific, covering the P&L across clients within Consumer, Retail, Wholesale, Travel, Transportation, Pharma, Lifesciences, Professional Services, and Online Consumer Commerce. He also managed the combined business and P&L for IBM Global Business Services for India and South Asia, across all industries and service lines, including Management Consulting, Application Services, Systems Integration, Application Management, Big Data and Analytics, Digital Commerce/Interactive Experience, and Enterprise Applications (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft). Rahul is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), where he completed his B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. He also holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, with a focus on Strategy, Finance, and Systems. Rahul is a distinguished alumnus of IIT(BHU) and has been recognized for his contributions to the industry. Apart from his professional achievements, Rahul is also actively involved in various industry associations and forums. He is an elected member of the NASSCOM Executive Council for terms 2019-2021 and 2021-2023 and serves as a governing member of the NASSCOM Sector Skills Council.
