Rahul Subramaniam is a highly skilled Quant Risk Modelling professional currently working at JP Morgan Chase and Co. He is a graduate student in the M.S. in Data Science program at Columbia University, with a strong background in programming and a keen interest in Machine Learning. Rahul has a strong grasp of Python, SQL, and Javascript, which he has honed through his internship and subsequent employment at MakeMyTrip, India’s leading travel portal. His internship at Orenda gave him the opportunity to work with Deep Learning frameworks, and his projects in his undergraduate institution exposed him to several Machine Learning and NLP libraries. In addition to his technical skills, Rahul is a quick learner, as evidenced by the time he was able to actively take up responsibilities as a member of the Columbia Data Science Student Council despite joining late. His experience as a core team member of the Entrepreneurship Cell of his college is testimony to the fact that he works well in a team. Rahul has worked as a Data Scientist at Orenda, where he worked with three members of the Data Science team to develop Deep Learning models to predict Real-Time Prices in ERCOT. He merged and scraped time-series data from 2016 onwards and performed Kendall, Pearson, ACF and PACF correlation analysis. He achieved an accuracy of approximately 90 percent in Q2-Q3 by building a Stacked LSTM Categorical model predicting price peaks. Rahul has a diverse educational background, including a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from R.V. College of Engineering, Bangalore, and a Master of Science in Data Science from Columbia University. He also has experience in PCM and computers from Delhi Public School Sector-45 Gurgaon FIITJEE Integrated Program and Science and computers from Hiranandani Foundation School, Powai.
