Raj Aryan is an upcoming Software Development Engineer at Zomato, with a passion for backend development and a soft spot for Android development using Flutter. He is currently serving as the GDSC Android Lead at Google Developer Student Club. Raj has gained valuable experience as a Software Engineer Intern at Zomato, where he worked on the Location Service project. He was responsible for transferring location-related entities data, as well as read and write requests, using Kafka from Zomato monolith to Location microservice. This resulted in reduced load and enhanced accessibility of data. He also set up the Location Search feature in microservice utilizing Google Autocomplete API and AWS Elasticsearch, reducing the response time from 500ms to 240ms. Raj took ownership of this feature for further enhancements. Additionally, he improved the Display Heuristics parsing mechanism utilizing Google Reverse Geocode API, removing the instances where no or invalid display information was displayed for any chosen location. The cases across India fell overall from 8.9% to 0.7%. Raj also modified the database attributes to incorporate the functionality of adding the Recipient’s Name and Contact Information while adding or modifying an address, to allow OFSE (Order For Someone Else) feature on the part of Locations. Raj is a Campus Ambassador at Smartknower and is pursuing his Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science Engineering from IIITN. He has a strong technical background with expertise in Android, Backend, Software Engineering, Flutter, Microservices, AWS, Elastic Search, Kafka, Search, and PHP. Apart from his technical skills, Raj is also a poet. He has written poetry that is stable, scalable, and was done in record time. With relevant experience of 0.36 years, Raj is a valuable asset to any team he works with, and his passion for development sets him apart from the rest.
