Raj Bains is an accomplished leader in business and technology with over 16 years of relevant experience. He is the Founder CEO of Prophecy.io, a low code data engineering platform for the enterprise. Raj has been instrumental in the development of the product v1 and has been hands-on in its development. Prior to Prophecy.io, Raj was the Product Manager of Apache Hive at Hortonworks through its IPO. Apache Hive is the most used product in the Hadoop ecosystem, used by over 90% of enterprise customers and companies with a lot of data, such as Facebook. Raj was responsible for strategy, execution, positioning, sales and partner enablement, and customer technical talks. Raj has also worked as a founding engineer (compiler) for the CUDA team at NVIDIA, where he developed multiple patentable algorithms. He was instrumental in finding repeatable product-market fit at Clustrix, where he worked as a PM. He also developed a new programming language for insurance, which was patented. Raj has worked with several companies in the past, including Viome, where he was the Acting VP Engineering/Architect and helped the startup set up its own team. He architected their secure AWS deployment, which was HIPAA compliant. Raj has a strong educational background, having completed a Startup Accelerator program from SkyDeck at the University of California, Berkeley, and an Executive Product Management program from the same university. He also has an MS in Computer Science from Colorado State University. Raj's tech stack includes product management, senior software engineering, Apache Hive, data engineering, AWS, and Hadoop. He is a leader in his field and has made significant contributions to the companies he has worked with.
