Raj Popat is an experienced Software Engineer with a strong background in DevOps, utilizing Kubernetes, Python, AWS, Django, Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins for developing and optimizing applications. With a demonstrated history of working in the computer software industry, Raj has gained expertise in using data structures and algorithms to write clean, modular, and maintainable code and design products and POCs that help clients optimize and efficiently use their resources to gain the desired output. Raj has worked with TCS for 2 years, where he has automated and optimized deployments in AWS and Azure leveraging configuration management, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and Containers. He also architected, designed, and developed an internal in-house scalable platform for on-demand deployment and maintenance of Kubernetes Clusters on both data center and Cloud using Django API, Python, Ansible scripts, Terraform Scripts, and MongoDB. This helped reduce the time for deployment of Kubernetes by 70%. Additionally, he designed and developed a tool that can perform automated discovery and deployment of app workloads using Python and Ansible Scripts, reducing the time for deployment of applications by 50%. He also developed Python Scripts to automatically resize the Virtual Machines in AWS based upon the predictions on utilizations generated by machine learning algorithms, which helped in reducing the cost by 25%. Raj has also led and mentored a team of 3 interns for the continuous deployment of applications using Ansible engine and Jenkins.
