Raja Shekar Mekala is a Software Development Engineer with over 5 years of experience in building new applications, debugging complex issues, and contributing to engineering and operational excellence. He is currently working at Amazon, where he has developed a pipeline from scratch to enrich metadata for cold start SKU’s and designed a framework to reduce ad irrelevance in Sponsored Products marketplace. He has also contributed to the team's engineering and operational excellence by building extensible infrastructure components, standardizing operational procedures, and automating manual procedures. Prior to Amazon, Raja worked at Juniper Networks as a Software Engineer and intern, where he delivered tailor-made network reliability and automation solutions, developed an ingest mechanism for an AI-based network monitoring system, and worked on Junos Evolved, a distributed OS. He also worked on microservices to break down the currently monolithic architecture into individual and scalable components. Raja holds a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology from Manipal Institute of Technology. He is skilled in AWS, Search, BERT, Ansible, AI, product design, Elastic Search, Kafka, Python, Cassandra, Big Data, Docker, NoSQL, Java, Microservices, Kubernetes, Spring Boot, Spring, Spark, test, ML, Jenkins, UI, and Web. Raja is passionate about building new applications and solving complex problems. He loves starting from a blank whiteboard and ending up in a really messy flow diagram. He is a self-starter who is constantly looking for ways to improve his skills and knowledge.
