Rajat Kumar is a highly experienced software engineer with a focus on scalable and distributed systems, embedded systems, and algorithm and data structures. He has a keen interest in microservices architecture and is well-versed in advanced data structures such as Trie using double array, Segment Tree, R-Tree, and Geo Hash Graphs. Rajat has end-to-end exposure to the MHEG-5 interactive TV standard, including MHEG-5 application development, MHEG-5 engine integration, and head-end setup. Currently working as a Software Engineer 2 at Microsoft, Rajat is contributing to the development of the Microsoft Kaizala instant messaging application. Prior to this, he worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Catvision Unitron Pvt Ltd, where he was responsible for designing, developing, and unit testing critical modules such as software upgrade, license, runtime table parsing, event management, and more. He also led a team of four members and communicated with third-party development teams to ensure successful completion of tasks. Rajat has also worked as a Lead Engineer at Samsung, where he played a key role in the development of the prestigious camera application that contributed significantly to the sale of Samsung smart TVs. In this role, he received audio/video contents and prepared transport stream or still image to store in connected USB devices. The camera app also provided support to share contents on social sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Rajat holds a Master of Computer Applications degree from ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad. He has a strong understanding of process/thread/task management, IPC, memory management, and IO. His specialties include enterprise chat application, STB, data structures, C, and C++.
