Rajat Singhal is a highly motivated and skilled Software Engineer with a passion for building and designing low-latency, high-performance applications. He is currently working in the Core Engineering team at Tower Research Capital, where he has enhanced the monitoring and alerting of events by integrating Amplitude and Prometheus platforms. He has also designed a generic streaming pipeline to process raw events using Apache Spark & Kafka and defined a simple interface for Playable Ads, which he implemented on a demo Android app and advertisement. Rajat completed his B. Tech from the Computer Science department at IIT Madras in 2021 and is an open-source contributor. He started his open-source journey in GSoC 2019 with ArduPilot.org, a versatile open autopilot software for drones and other autonomous systems. Currently, he works more on AirSim, where he has developed several new features, bug fixes, unit-testing, CI/CD, and improved documentation. He has also worked as a Software Development Intern at Disney+ Hotstar in April-June 2020, where he enhanced the monitoring and alerting of events, wrote Python services, and designed a generic streaming pipeline. Rajat has been a part of interdisciplinary projects and teams like UAVs for Disaster Management and Avishkar Hyperloop. They were the National Winners of Microsoft CodeFunDo++ 2019 for their work on autonomous swarm drones for surveillance in disasters. Avishkar Hyperloop was the only Asian team in the Top 21 finalists of the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition. Rajat has taken various courses related to Systems Engineering and core CS and uses other online methods to explore his interests. Reading books is one of his major hobbies, and he enjoys reading technical books and fiction novels and keeping himself up to date with the latest news and technologies through blog posts and articles. Rajat has 1.78 years of relevant experience and is skilled in Software Engineering, Research Science, Spark, Kafka, Python, Android, CI/CD, test, and ML. He is a hardworking and dedicated individual who constantly strives to learn and grow in his field.
