Rajesh Gandham, Ph.D. is an experienced software engineer and research scientist specializing in numerical analysis, high-performance computing, optimization, and software engineering. With a background in computational and applied mathematics, he has developed high-performance software for multi-physics simulations in various fields, including CFD, seismic imaging, and reservoir engineering. Currently, Rajesh is a Senior Software Engineer at NVIDIA, where he works primarily on developing cuOpt, a software suite that leverages GPU computing for complex problems in operations research, such as last-mile delivery, supply chain, food delivery, and warehouse picking. His focus is on researching, developing, and implementing high-performant and high-accurate heuristic solvers, as well as making it easy for logistics and operational research developers to use these solvers. Prior to his current role, Rajesh worked as a Software Architect HPC and Computational Scientist at Stone Ridge Technology, where he designed, implemented, tested, and supported multi-physics models for ECHELON, a fully GPU-accelerated commercial petroleum reservoir simulator. He also designed and implemented a database framework in C++17 for saving simulation state and restarting simulations, and provided mentorship for new developers and petroleum engineers in writing C++14/17 and CUDA code. Rajesh holds a Ph.D. in computational and applied mathematics from Rice University and a master's degree in aerospace engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. His technical skills include software engineering, research, C++, and test infrastructure, and he has 7.7 years of relevant experience in the field. Rajesh is passionate about writing well-designed, maintainable codes that are parallel, scalable, and run super fast for practical applications.
