Rajesh Balaraman is an experienced Software Engineering Manager at Google with over 14 years of relevant experience. He is responsible for leading a team of developers in the creation of a framework and infrastructure components for data acquisition using various industry protocols from Industrial IoT devices. These data acquisition applications called Connectors collect critical operations data in real time in a reliable and secure manner. Rajesh works in an agile environment producing releasable packages every three weeks. Prior to joining Google, Rajesh worked at OSIsoft as a Team Lead - Software Development. He managed a software development team of eight developers and was responsible for driving the product backlog and features, creating and implementing an effective development process, advising and guiding the team through architecture and design decisions, hiring and mentoring new developers, and conducting performance reviews and 1 on 1s. Rajesh has also worked as a Sr. Software Developer at OSIsoft, where he worked on implementing major functionalities for the connector framework like redundancy, improved robustness while interacting with the storage layer, and added self-hosted web servers for configuration and monitoring of the application. Apart from development responsibilities, he also served as a scrum master for the team. Rajesh holds an MS in ECE from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a B.E. in Electronics and Communication from Anna University.
