Rajesh Segu is a highly motivated and enthusiastic technology leader with a passion for creating products and platforms that make millions of users happy. With almost two decades of relevant experience, he has built a lot of things in top-tier product companies ranging from tiny startups to mega-corps. Rajesh loves working with smart people, building awesome software, mentoring engineers, and coding in coffee shops. Currently, Rajesh is a Tech Lead at Uber, where he is focused on building robust product platforms to help deliver stellar customer engagement solutions and scale them to multiple lines of businesses. He leads cross-functional frontend engineering teams responsible for building best-in-class Customer Engagement products and platforms at scale. These products power customer care across Rides, Eats, Freight, and many upcoming Uber businesses. Rajesh has built a strong FE roster from 8 to 20+ engineers spread across the Bay Area and Bangalore. He leads FE engineers in setting a technical vision and north star architecture for the entire org and has built a robust webview infrastructure to help seamless integration of web apps into native applications. Rajesh has also led the creation of mosaic-ui react component library to standardize components across customer care products. He introduced best practices of reliability, availability, and performance and worked with the teams to improve SLA's for both availability and latency across the board. Rajesh has collaborated with teams to build a unified help center to standardize help experience across Uber products. Prior to his current role, Rajesh was a Tech Lead for Uber's Web Platform team, which is responsible for building frameworks, productivity tools, integrations, and standardized infrastructure for over 750+ web applications across Uber. He helped build FusionJS, a modern performant SPA framework, and drove Apollo + GraphQL adoption. Rajesh also built a scalable system to measure and monitor performance for all web apps at Uber. He led the team for m.uber.com, a lightning-fast mobile web app, and collaborated with the networking team to enable GCP edge solution to all Uber web applications. Before joining Uber, Rajesh was a Staff Engineer at MobileIron, where he established standards, web infra, test pipeline, and automated code quality tools. He built a world-class cloud MDM solution using Angular and modern web technologies and won the Hackathon with the "MDM for Family" mobile app. Rajesh holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Sri Venkateswara University.
