Rajon Tumbokon is an experienced Manager of Technical Training and Documentation currently working at LinkedIn, where he founded Technical Training in 2014 to accelerate productivity with Engineering New hires through a phase of hypergrowth. He is responsible for managing and developing a global team of Instructional Engineers and program managers to help scale technical learning. He has also launched Engineering Bootcamp, LinkedIn's award-winning technical onboarding program that increased productivity for new engineers by over 100% within its first year. In 2020, Rajon launched Engineering University, LinkedIn's internal technical training portal that manages over 400 training and education events with 3,500 engaged learners. He has developed tools that reduced the team's operational overhead by over 60%, enabling the team to scale. He is also responsible for managing the Technical Documentation team, which consists of Sr. and Staff-level Technical Writers. He is helping transform the team's direction from tactical to strategic, focusing on improving content discovery, freshness, accuracy, and completeness. Rajon has a strong background in learning design, UX design, web development, and prototyping. He creates transformative learning solutions for special projects and LinkedIn business units, including learning sites, video content, e-learning, informal learning, and classroom experiences. He has developed custom learning content and leverages the newest learning technologies such as LearnIn, MOOCs, and social platforms. Prior to his current role, Rajon was the Sr. Instructional Designer of LinkedIn's Onboarding team, managing the production and deployment of all online content for LinkedIn global new hires. He also helped design new engaging online experiences such as the New Hire Roadmap, an interactive guide on LearnIn that helps LinkedIn new hires navigate through their roles in the company in their first 30 days. Rajon is also a TechKnowCon Board Member, an annual conference that brings together peers from various companies to compare notes and share best practices about technical training, documentation, and learning in the workplace. He holds a degree in Computer Science from Stevens Institute of Technology and has over 20 years of relevant experience, with a strong focus on CI/CD.
