Rajorshi Biswas is a highly experienced Engineering Director and Senior Engineering Manager with over 17 years of diverse experience leading large software development teams and full-stack cloud native development using modern web technologies. Currently serving as the Principal Group Engineering Manager at Microsoft, he is responsible for leveraging Azure to build PaaS/SaaS solutions for digital transformation in industries such as agriculture, retail, and CPG. Rajorshi has extensive engineering management experience, having led diverse medium/large teams of engineers and managers, hiring, building teams from scratch, performance and compensation management, roadmaps, OKR/goal-setting, project planning, and cross-functional stakeholder management. He has full-stack experience on architecture, design, and development of modern distributed applications, primarily on Java and modern web technologies such as React/TypeScript. He also has hands-on end-to-end understanding of modern cloud-native infrastructure (primarily AWS) and SRE principles. Prior to his current role, Rajorshi served as the Director of Engineering and Head of Infrastructure at Teamstand, a D. E. Shaw & Co. startup building an enterprise workflow management platform. He was responsible for the ownership and bootstrapping of the SAAS platform, set up the AWS environment for the product from scratch, and was also responsible for setting up organizational policies and frameworks including infosec, business continuity (BCP), disaster recovery (DR), and several engineering processes. He was also the hiring manager for several key roles. Rajorshi also served as the Associate Director of Engineering at Arcesium, where he led a 30+ member group responsible for owning Arcesium’s platform applications and infrastructure end-to-end, including availability, performance, and scalability, incident management, budgeting, allocations, time-tracking, headcount, and group roadmaps. He was also critical in recruiting, serving as the hiring manager for the entire Hyderabad technology group for a year. Rajorshi holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science from Jadavpur University. He has a strong technical background and is proficient in various technologies such as AWS, SQL, infra, Java, Web, TypeScript, SRE, Azure, Frontend, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker, Javascript, Spring, and Redux. With relevant experience of 19.20 years, Rajorshi is a highly skilled and accomplished leader in the field of software development and cloud-native technologies.
