Rakesh Babu Gandi is a Principal Platform Engineer with over 12 years of relevant experience in database administration, Teradata operations, performance consulting, Hadoop, Azure Data Warehouse, BI insights and reporting. He has a B.Tech degree in IT from KITS-Warangal and has completed his high school and junior college from APRS-Nagarjuna Sagar and SR Junior College, Hanamkonda respectively. Rakesh started his career as a Teradata database administrator and has been obsessed with the goal of keeping Teradata database systems in optimal and performance efficient state. He loves to dig into customer performance problems and solve them by providing performance tuning recommendations, thereby helping in achieving a level of service for business. He is a dedicated, outcome-oriented professional with a focus on building and placing all data platforms in optimal state. Apart from Teradata, Rakesh has also learnt and contributed towards implementing a few crowd-sourced projects on Hadoop development and administration, which led him to add Bigdata portfolio in his skill set. He has contributed in migrating a few projects from legacy relational systems to Bigdata systems with datasets being consumed by analytics and data science teams to drive business decisions. Rakesh has worked with companies like GAP and Kyvos Insights as a Staff Software Engineer and Lead Software Engineer respectively. He is currently working with Providence as a Principal Platform Engineer.
