He is currently serving as the Principal Software Engineer Lead at Microsoft, driving the unified data access control technology stack and innovation for Hadoop and relational databases. Rakesh is skilled in driving the complex, highly scalable, and distributed heterogeneous data system architecture, complex mesh of network-based data proxies, and deep protocol re-engineering, on-the-fly SQL re-engineering, machine learning, and data analytics algorithms. Prior to joining Microsoft, Rakesh served as the Senior Technical Director at Bluetalon | Unified Data Access Control, where he led the technical execution of the unified data access control for Hadoop distributions and relational databases. He also designed the architecture of a robust interception point for unified access control for SQL systems in modern data lakes. Before that, Rakesh worked as the Technical Director at DB Research Pvt. Ltd, where he drove the technology vision to implement the secured federated data access across the heterogeneous data sources, including Oracle, DB2, SQLServer, Netezza, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. He built multiple product lines, including Secure Office, Enterprise Access Control, Secure Enterprise Federated Access, and Secure Access Control for ODBC & JDBC Adapters, and deployed the product to Fortune 100 customers in the healthcare and financial domain. Rakesh holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Shri Vaishnav Institute of Technology & Science, Baroli, Sanwar Road, Indore.
