Rakesh Kothari is a seasoned technology professional with over 10 years of experience in building mission-critical applications with high traffic. He has worked with the best teams and learned from the smartest minds, and has expertise with both Spring-based backend stack to the latest frontend React JavaScript frameworks. He believes that concise design principles are the foundation on which software should be built, with help from TDD. Rakesh is currently exploring entrepreneurship as a vehicle to impact more lives. He researches and develops technology to address ground-level issues, with the technology used mostly being Android or React-based PWA apps powered to run for very low bandwidth areas. Performance and app-size play a very critical role in his work. He also does part-time technology consulting and mentoring. Rakesh is currently the Co-founder and Head of Technology at MicroDegree, a boot-camp for students and early professionals to gain hands-on coding experience, build real-world products, and get placed with their hiring partners. He defines, designs, and develops product road maps, brainstorm on innovations for product pipeline, works closely with engineering teams, and manages monthly finance and accounting. In his past, Rakesh has worked as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Mutbi Student Entrepreneurship Cell and as a Qmefy at Dhoorbin Technologies. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from B.M.S. College of Engineering, completed in 2009, and a Pre-University degree from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, completed in 2005. Rakesh's tech stack includes Android, JavaScript, Research Scientist, Spring, Frontend, and Backend, and he has 13.69 years of relevant experience. When not busy, he is a voracious reader, a part-time blogger, and an avid traveler.
