Rakesh Menon is a Full-stack JavaScript Specialist with over 12 years of relevant experience in the field. He is currently working as the Lead Platform Architect for Experience/Frontend Engineering at A.P. Møller – Mærsk. Rakesh has a passion for all things web and specializes in component-driven development, decoupled architecture, and microservices. Rakesh has expertise in object-oriented JavaScript, UI architecture, and building user interfaces, Backend for frontends (BFFs), and REST APIs. He has architected websites and web apps of almost all shapes and sizes using cutting-edge tech stacks. Rakesh has experience working with popular frameworks, enhancing them, as well as creating custom frameworks from the ground up. Rakesh has a keen eye for design and is passionate about creating amazing web experiences. He constantly strives to keep up with ongoing developments, follow-up, learn, master, and bring optimal patterns, practices in his workflow to effectively deliver quality within aggressive timelines. Rakesh also champions the adoption of best practices in code quality and maintainability, conducting training sessions for the frontend community for new and upcoming frameworks in the ever-changing ecosystem. In his current role, Rakesh's day-to-day work involves working with Frontend - Javascript, Frontend - CSS, Frontend - HTML, Backend - NodeJS + Cloud, Backend - Databases, Code Quality - Test / Lint, Architecture, DevOps & CI/CD, and CMS. Prior to his current role, Rakesh worked as a Senior Architect, eXperience Technology at Publicis Sapient, where he worked with Retail domain clients and led the implementation of a custom framework for the frontend on top of a microservices-based decoupled architecture. He also worked on creating a design system for a big-ticket hospitality client to standardize the developer/designer handoffs and improve consistency across User Interfaces. Rakesh holds a B.Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University. He also has an ISC degree in Computers, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, and an ICSE degree in General from M.P. Birla Foundation Higher Secondary School.
