About
Rakesh Narasimhamurthy is an experienced process design engineer with expertise in basic and detail engineering work for carbon capture (CCUS) and oil and gas projects. He has extensive knowledge of thermal design of heat exchangers and air coolers using HTRI software and preparation of PFDs and H&MB documents using Aspen HYSYS, Unisim, and Promax software. He is also skilled in preparation of MSDs, P&IDs, DPDT documents, hydraulic and pump calculations. Currently, Rakesh works as a Deputy Manager at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, where he is involved in the KMCDR Decarbonisation technology - Carbon Capture utilisation and storage CCUS (recovery and storage of CO2 from post combustion flue gas). He has worked on various projects, including FEED Engineering activities of 25000 TPD CO2 recovery and compression from coal fired power plant flue gas in PSGC Illinois, USA, plant operational data analysis for reduced CO2 production problem in QAFAC, Qatar, and pre-basic engineering stage feasibtudy study of 6600 TPD CO2 recovery and compression from Gas Turbine based power plant flue gas in ENGIE, Belgium. In the past, Rakesh has worked with Honeywell as a Chemical Engineer - UOP, where he prepared UOP basic engineering package of oil and gas projects in SWS Unit, LPG treating technology (mercaptan removal) for Middle East and European clients. He has also worked with Petrofac as a Process Engineer, where he was involved in proposal & detail engineering for oil, gas and utility plants of ENOC (Kerosene hydrotreater), ALGERIA REFINERY (Gas oil hydro desulphurization), KNPC (Hydrocracker), Saudi Aramco (Sour water stripper and Sulfur storage & transport), BPCL-Kochi refinery (Naphtha hydrotreater), ORPIC & ADGAS (Hot oil unit). Rakesh holds a degree in Process Design Engineering from the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Vishveshwaraiah Technological University. He has 9.95 years of relevant experience and is proficient in software such as HYSYS, HTRI, KORF hydraulics, and MS Office.
