Ram Sriharsha is a highly experienced VP of Engineering, R&D at Pinecone, a fully managed vector database that provides high performance and reliability at any scale. With over 15 years of relevant experience, Ram has a proven track record of success in the tech industry. Ram's expertise lies in senior software engineering, search, infrastructure, AI, Spark, big data, and product management. He has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Splunk and Databricks, where he served as Vice President of Engineering and Product Manager, respectively. At Splunk, Ram was responsible for leading the product and engineering teams for the unified analytics platform for genomics. He was interested in scaling genomics on Apache Spark and democratizing big data and AI. At Databricks, he was the product and engineering lead for the unified analytics platform for genomics. Ram holds a BTech in Electronics from IIT and a PhD in Physics from the University of Maryland. He has a passion for learning and is always looking for ways to expand his knowledge. Pinecone is currently hiring world-class engineers and scientists who are interested in vector search libraries, filtering capabilities, and distributed infrastructure.
