Ramakrishna Chilaka is a highly motivated and skilled Software Development Engineer (SDE) with a passion for building large-scale, massively parallel distributed systems. Currently working at Amazon as an SDE-2, Ramakrishna is responsible for the OpenSearch Managed Service. With over 5 years of relevant experience, Ramakrishna has a strong background in fault-tolerant replicated distributed systems and systems programming, including Go, Rust, and C++. He is highly proficient in AWS, Spark, SQL, Scala, Big Data, Elastic Search, and NodeJS. Prior to his current role at Amazon, Ramakrishna worked as a Staff Engineer and Senior Software Engineer at nference, where he was responsible for developing and architecting distributed SQL engines using Apache Spark, contributing to HiveThriftServer2, and developing large-scale backend services in Go to analyze billions of rows of data at near-real-time speeds using ElasticSearch. Ramakrishna has also developed several applications, including a Small Molecules application in Go that shows statistics on 300 million drugs from PubChem and a Biomolecular Application (SingleCell) in Go, which is open-sourced at academia.nferx.com. He has also developed custom COVID analytics applications for Janssen, including a "Back to Work" app that shows COVID analytics trends. Ramakrishna is a Bachelor's degree holder in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, where he graduated in 2018. He has also mentored three direct hires (freshers) during his career.
