Raman Goyal is a Senior Software Engineer at Google, based in the Bay Area. He graduated from IIIT-Allahabad and completed his Bachelor's Thesis at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He has worked in several companies, including Expedia Inc. in the Data Warehouse team and Epic, where he built software for surgeons. Raman is a programmer, mobile/web developer, and tech-savvy individual who is always interested in learning new technologies and solving algorithmic challenges. His research and development interests are mainly in areas of Machine Learning, Data Mining, Secure Engineering, Information Retrieval, and Mobile Software Engineering. Aside from his professional pursuits, Raman is also very enthusiastic and adventurous. He loves drumming and traveling. Raman's past experiences have given him a strong foundation in various technologies, including Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Scala, Java, MongoDB, and HDFS. He has worked on a tool called hdfs-analysis, which analyzes small files in a Hadoop cluster and tells the cluster health with respect to small files. It tells the partitioning, compaction, and deletion candidates for these files. Raman is interested in opportunities in the field of Software Engineering, Machine Learning, Secure Engineering, Mobile App Development, and Security.
