Ramanathan Akila Vaidyanathan is a Lead Android Engineer at Freshworks with over 7 years of experience in developing highly scalable Android apps. He is passionate about architecture, UX, design, and performance, and has worked with apps and SDKs of different genres and sizes. Ramanathan has a keen interest in everything Google and enjoys working with Android. In the early years of his career, Ramanathan was fascinated by mobile banking and had the opportunity to develop merchant and customer apps for both public and private sector banks. At Freshworks, Ramanathan works on diverse projects, including a customer desk, a CRM, a chat SDK, an HR management tool, and more. He is committed to creating lightweight yet highly competent mobile apps that meet the needs of his clients. Ramanathan is also passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience with others. He conducts workshops at colleges for budding engineers to get their hands on Android and is always eager to learn from his students. Before joining Freshworks, Ramanathan worked as a Software Engineer II at Akamai and as a System Engineer at TCS. At Akamai, he worked on the Predictive Content Delivery SDK and Mobile Performance Acceleration SDK, focusing on download control management, video caching with adaptive bitrates, device profiling, and networking acceleration. At TCS, Ramanathan developed merchant payment, assisted banking, and two-wheeler loan apps, focusing on customer onboarding, financial transactions, app security, and biometric authentication. Ramanathan holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics & Instrumentation from Kalasalingam University and completed his Higher Secondary education in Mathematics and Computer Science from R.S. Krishnan HSS, Kailasapuram, Trichy. Ramanathan's tech stack includes Android, Software Engineering, Senior Software Engineering, and Mobile.
