Ramesh Gaikwad is a highly skilled Senior Software Developer with over 9 years of experience in the field. He is currently working with SAP Labs India as a Senior Software Developer, contributing to Rest API development in SAP HANA cloud Databases. Ramesh has a Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Govt. College of Engineering, Karad. Ramesh has an impressive track record of working with cutting-edge technologies, including Kubernetes, AWS, Docker, and Microservices. He has hands-on experience with the internals of database structures, indices, in-memory data movement, multi-tenancy, and various storage technologies. His work involves C++, Python, shell scripting, Golang, Kubernetes, and AWS DynamoDB. Ramesh has worked with SAP for many years and has been involved in several projects. He worked on HANA's next-generation in-memory storage optimization- NSE and its applicability in a HANA scaleout landscape. He also worked on Hana As a Service (HAAS), targeted towards all leading clouds. He was involved in the Orchestration layer for doing optimal placement of Hana containers on VMs. Ramesh implemented HAAS Orchestrator with machine topology-aware HANA database docker containers with specific CPU/Memory resources that exploit NUMA-aware elastic behavior of HANA. Additionally, he worked on HANA-DT database system Replication. Analyzing and improving memory usage, data shipping throughout over a network, and reducing resource-contentions to increase the throughput of database operations.
