Ramya Venkataraman is a highly experienced Director of Software Engineering with over 16 years of relevant experience. Currently, she holds the position of Director of Engineering Services at Viasat Inc., where she supports VPs to launch services in new countries with a focus on enabling Provisioning, Accounting, Fulfillment, and Service Assurance capabilities through a Business Empowerment Platform. This platform provides scalable virtualized B/OSS capabilities across multiple Satellite Access Network Technologies such as DOCSIS and WiMax. Ramya has worked extensively on customer self-service platform design and development to support Viasat 2 Satellite launch with an aim to reduce Care Cost Per User. She has also developed a virtualized, scalable, and automated troubleshooting engine that integrates with Facebook Messenger, SMS, and Mobile App. Additionally, Ramya has worked on Service Assurance Rules Engine and Proactive Alerting platform to predict and localize issues impacting end customer Satellite Internet service, grouped by B/OSS systems, traffic shaper, access network-edge routers, and satellite modem, IP management systems - ACS(TR69), and control path systems. Ramya completed her Master's degree in Electrical Engineering specialized in Computer Networks from the University of Southern California in 2008. Prior to that, she completed her Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Vishveshwaraiah Technological University in 2004. Ramya's tech stack includes Mobile, and she has worked with various technologies and tools throughout her career. With her extensive experience and knowledge, she has become a valuable asset to the company.
