Ranjan Relan is a highly skilled data strategist and technologist with over 15 years of experience in data analytics, big data, and artificial intelligence. He has extensive experience in leading and executing large-scale BI/DWH/Big Data projects, having played roles such as Big Data Architect, E2E Data Analyst, ETL Architect, and BI/DWH developer for clients like Apple Inc., Intel Corporation, and British Telecom. Ranjan is proficient in Hadoop architecture, Map Reduce Framework, HDFS, Hive, Sqoop, and Oozie, and associated system components. He has over four years of experience in Big Data and its related ecosystem technologies, and is proficient in performance tuning of HQL queries by using various joins, writing customized combiner codes, and applying compression techniques, among others. Additionally, Ranjan is experienced in DWH/BI concepts, dimensional modelling, Ralph Kimball's bottom-up approach of building a data warehouse from scratch, and various frameworks related to ETL layer, Data Quality Management (DQM), and semantic-reporting layer. Ranjan has also worked for Nagarro as a Big Data Consultant, where he was instrumental in implementing the firm's first Big Data and Cloud Migration for a US-based Energy Company. He has also been involved in setting up the Big Data CoE (center of excellence) as part of which he built several Big Data and Cloud accelerators, frameworks, and Points of Views related to multiple Big Data Products (MapR, AWS, Cloudera, Azure, etc.).
