Ranjith Kumar is a Technical Specialist at Cognizant with over 12 years of experience in MySQL and Oracle database. He is an Oracle Certified Professional (DBA) and has expertise in performance tuning, schema design, fail-over systems, and migration techniques in both MySQL and Oracle. Ranjith has fine-tuned various databases in multiple open source EMR products like OpenEMR and has good knowledge in healthcare products and publications. Currently, he is supporting one of the leading publication companies. In his current role, Ranjith is responsible for installing and upgrading database servers, controlling and monitoring user access to the database, monitoring and optimizing database performance, planning for backup and recovery of database information, maintaining archived data, and backing up and restoring databases using tools as well as manual backup. Ranjith is also responsible for database maintenance and technical support, generating various reports by querying from the database as per need, capacity planning of the database storage and future requirements, performance analysis, and fine-tuning the queries. He has experience in replication/HA setup and monitoring the replication and coordinates the development team for db related issues and new implementation requirements. Prior to joining Cognizant, Ranjith worked as a Technical Lead - MySQL Database Administration at Cognizant and as a MySQL- Database Administrator at Wipro. He holds a Master's degree in Computer Applications from IRTT and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from PSG CAS. Ranjith's tech stack includes MySQL and he is a Senior Software Engineer.
