Raunak B. is a Machine Learning Lead at Google's Search Knowledge Graph, with over 7 years of relevant experience. He has expertise in domains such as abuse detection, edu-tech, ad-tech, edge cloud, and sales call analysis. Raunak has a proven track record of solving novel problems using various techniques such as Knowledge Graph, text, vision, anomaly detection, and clustering. He has conducted research on abuse detection in user contributions using machine learning, knowledge graph node extraction from unstructured text, and annotation assistive technologies. Raunak has also developed a tree compression and semantics extraction algorithm for traffic analysis in cloud edge routers and a hierarchical image segmentation framework. Apart from his work, Raunak is passionate about understanding the human mind and its complex abstraction. He believes that Deep Learning research is uniquely poised to bridge the gap to its understanding by mimicking it, albeit just its primitive reptilian part. Raunak is intrigued by the phenomenon of emergence prevalent in the universe, by which small things aggregate into functionally divergent larger systems, such as atoms and cells. He is also interested in the future of superintelligence and how evolution pushes us towards more sophisticated forms of information consumption. Raunak's past experience includes working as a Senior Data Scientist at Embibe, where he was responsible for constructing a knowledge graph from unstructured and semi-structured text and developing a natural language processing pipeline to train on limited data. He also worked on annotation assistive tooling for semi-automated annotation, validation, ranking, tracking, and quality review. Raunak has also worked as an R&D Consultant for Rare Technologies, where he developed a handwritten number extraction and object segmentation framework for image tree segmentation and a peak clustering algorithm.
