Ravi Kothari is a Perception Engineer at AVL Software and Functions GmbH, with a passion for the fields of ADAS and ML. With over 4 years of relevant experience, Ravi has worked on various projects related to hybrid vehicle simulation, energy control strategies, and point cloud analysis for real and synthetic LiDAR sensors. Currently, he is working on the KIDT project, where he is responsible for adopting digital twin synthetic data for training 2D detector yolov5 and testing it on real datasets. He is also working on isolating critical image features that reduce the domain gap between real and simulation data. Prior to his current role, Ravi worked as a Masterarbeit at Elektronische Fahrwerksysteme GmbH, where he worked on object detection and motion forecasting using raw radar data and DNN. He used an auto encoder and decoder for classifying and detecting objects, fusion of range-angle and Doppler data using attention module, and velocity prediction and motion forecasting by temporal fusion of past frames. He also worked as a Praktikant RD/ETA at Daimler AG, where he was responsible for the simulation of hybrid vehicles and the development of Matlab tools for various topologies. Ravi holds a Master's degree in Automotive Engineering from RWTH Aachen University and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He also completed his high school education at DAV Public School, Kota, and his ICSE at Sarala Birla Academy. Ravi's technical skills include object detection, ML, and test. He is a dedicated and driven individual with a passion for innovation and a desire to make a difference in the field of perception engineering.
