Ravindra Sadaphule is a seasoned Silicon Valley engineering leader with more than 25 years of experience in R&D in the software industry. He has a strong background in SaaS, enterprise/web search, discovery, recommendations, mobile (iOS and Android), machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing (NLP), big data platform, web, and desktop consumer software development. He is a results-oriented and decisive leader who excels in dynamic, demanding environments while remaining pragmatic and focused. Ravindra is passionate about leadership excellence, employee engagement, product quality, and customer experience. Currently, Ravindra is the Director of Software Engineering at Adobe, leading Search, Discovery & Recommendations, Multi-modal embeddings, ML, Computer Vision, and NLP engineering teams to power search and discovery experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Stock, Creative Cloud desktop, Creative cloud web, and Adobe.com. He has also led the development of highly scalable full-stack applications that include bing.com, msn.com, office 365, iOS and android Microsoft Powerpoint, Word and Excel apps with 1 billion users with sub-second latency. Ravindra is a recipient of 2 Gold Star awards at Microsoft and has transformed Quickbooks Online technology by decomposing monolith into AWS public cloud-based micro-services architected to achieve greater scalability, availability, and productivity. He has built, mentored, and grown large geographically distributed teams and provided clarity, direction, and vision to stakeholders. He has also worked with cross-disciplines, senior leadership, and partners, creating a startup culture, empowering team members, and encouraging bottom-up innovation. Ravindra's specialties include approaching product development with MVP, self-healing, metrics-driven mentality, developing machine learning-based predictions, analyzers, recommendations, and anomaly detection, and validating concepts using "agile methodology" and "fail fast." He is also an effective driver of engineering excellence processes (Scrum, Kannan) to improve agility and quality in large engineering teams (3000+ engineers). Ravindra holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from VJTI and an MBA in Information Technology from American Public University. He also has a Stanford LEAD Certificate in Strategy and Innovation Focus, Organizational Leadership and has completed Applied Data Science and Artificial Intelligence courses from MIT Professional Education.
