Ravishankar A is a Principal Engineer (SDET) at HGST, a Western Digital company, with over 18 years of experience in Python, Java, and C++ programming and software product development. He specializes in Object storage application (S3), BIG data, EMS/NMS, and Internet technologies. Ravishankar has expertise in automating build framework using Open Source Virtualization, CI/CD with Jenkins, and Cloud computing and deployment automation. As a Big data engineer, Ravishankar has experience working on Hadoop stacks and expertise in developing machine learning algorithms and recommendation engines. He has worked on REST API development and testing, white box testing with an extensive unit testing framework using Mock Objects, and automating Cloud Build and Deployment using Ansible/Virtualbox. Ravishankar is well-versed in performance testing with LoadRunner, JMeter, and Webpagetest and has experience working with Agile (Scrum) methodology and CI/CD with Jenkins. He also has exposure to EMS/NMS testing and SNMPv2, COPS-PR, PPP, OSPF, RIP, BGP. Currently, Ravishankar is working on Object Storage application (S3) with Python stack, automating Cloud components, and integrating with CI/CD with Python/Nose framework. He is also developing unit test-cases with Python mock framework and integrating them with CI/CD. In the past, Ravishankar has worked with Intuit IDC and Yahoo, where he explored Hive on HDFS with MongoDB with Python + Javascript NodeJS, UI Web scraping with Beautiful Soup - Python, and automation of Frontend & Rest API for SAAS-based applications. He has also worked on testing REST API with Schema Validation Framework, maintaining CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins, and functional test-cases with Arrow tool. Ravishankar holds a Master of Science (MS) in Software Systems from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and a BE in Electrical and Electronics from Vishveshwaraiah Technological University. He has also completed his primary education from St Victor English Higher Primary School, Puttur.
