Ray Courtney is a highly experienced Software Architect and Director with over two decades of experience in the industry. He has a demonstrated ability to build high-performance teams and develop highly scalable, stable products using an agile/iterative approach. Ray is known for his use of robust development and testing processes to launch code daily with zero downtime. Currently, Ray is serving as one of 14 Commissioners of the Township of Lower Merion, where he was elected to serve as part of the Executive and Legislative body of government. He is responsible for making important decisions that affect the township's residents and ensuring that the government is running smoothly. Prior to his role as Commissioner, Ray was a Software Architect at CIONIC, where he was responsible for designing and developing software solutions that met the company's needs. He has also worked as a Committee Person for the Democratic Committee of Lower Merion and Narberth, where he was involved in canvassing, campaigning, poll work, and advocacy for progressive candidates and causes. Ray holds an AB in Computer Science from Harvard University, where he graduated in 2001. He has a strong technical background and is a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in various tech stacks.
