Rebecca Shapiro is a skilled software engineer with a knack for breaking down complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand language. With a background in communication and business, Rebecca has honed her analytical and strategic thinking skills, which have proven invaluable in her current role as a software engineer. Rebecca's journey to becoming a software engineer began at Amazon's flash sale start-up MyHabit, where she worked as a buyer responsible for procuring products and turning inventory profitably. Her constant drive to eliminate inefficiencies led her to master Excel and build her own planning tools. Realizing her passion for digital tools, she left Amazon to gain the skills necessary to transition into a technical role. After a year on a digital team at Razorfish and completing Flatiron School's web intensive program, Rebecca joined Bluecore as an Associate Product Manager. She managed feature development for the email personalization product before moving on to become a Forward Deployed Engineer at Ollie, a SaaS startup. At Ollie, Rebecca ensures the extensibility, performance, and scalability of the company's e-commerce platform. She is responsible for feature development and maintenance of their homegrown fulfillment operations suite, online subscription flow and account management experience, and reporting for clients in operations, marketing, finance, and CX. Rebecca's expertise includes using AWS Cloud, Linux, 3P integrations, test-driven development, and she is skilled in Python, Django, SQL, and JavaScript. Rebecca holds a B.A. in Communication Studies and Business Institutions Program from Northwestern University and completed Flatiron School's Web Development Immersive program.
