Rekha Puvvada is an engineering leader at Cisco Systems India with over 15 years of experience in software development management, contractor management, and software testing. She has managed both full-time employees and contractors for the NGFW Snort teams in the security business unit. Rekha is a certified Scrum Master and has knowledge of various activities such as managing contractors, scoping and planning work, meeting deadlines, and ensuring quality work. Rekha has extensive experience in the security domain, specifically with Cisco security product ASA. She has a strong understanding of market needs and competition and leads the planning effort and execution strategy of ASA Regression for sustenance and mainline releases. Rekha also has a solid understanding of networking concepts and network security, including LAN/VLAN, switching, and routing in a Cisco environment. She is an expert in functional and performance testing and has experience working with Agile methodology in software development. Additionally, Rekha has knowledge and experience with various Linux tools. Throughout her career, Rekha has worked on manual testing and web-based testing and has been exposed to all stages of a software development life cycle. She continuously works to roll out quality initiatives to expedite the productivity of her teams. Rekha is enthusiastic about learning new concepts in emerging technology and has strong communication skills with various stakeholders, colleagues, cross-functional, and cross-geographic teams. Prior to joining Cisco, Rekha worked at Nortel Networks as a software engineer and at Wipro as a project engineer. She holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computers and Information Technology and a Bachelor of Technology in CSIT from JNTU. Rekha is currently pursuing a Cross Industry Leadership Development Program with a focus on Women in Leadership at IIM. Overall, Rekha has 14.78 years of relevant experience in the tech industry.
