Renée Hendricksen is a seasoned Senior Software Engineer at Fastly with over 16 years of relevant experience in software development and business process improvement. She holds a BS degree in Computer Science, Economics, and Physics from the University of Puget Sound and a High School Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Bergen County Academies. Renée is a technical leader in the Ruby on Rails software community and specializes in Ruby on Rails development, product strategy, and business intelligence. Her expertise in agile development has enabled her to co-found Seattle RailsBridge and present at both domestic and international Ruby conferences. As a business consultant, Renée has utilized her background in computer science and economics to create innovative solutions for leading organizations in the telecommunications, aerospace, and high tech industries. She draws upon experience from a variety of projects, from high energy physics simulation to financial forecasting models, to provide key expertise for her clients in the areas of business intelligence and software development. Prior to joining Fastly, Renée founded and served as CEO/CTO of Northwest Independent Ruby Development (NIRD Inc.) and also worked as an Advisor and Investor at Humming, Inc. Renée's tech stack includes software engineering, Ruby, and product management.
