Richard Barrett is a highly skilled Data Engineer and Network Developer with over 4.5 years of experience in public teaching and a further 3.5 years working with Mirantis. He has a passion for coding and automation, which he applies to all aspects of his work to make his life easier. Richard has experience working with various open-source resources to help companies achieve their software stack needs within their environments. He specializes in automation, ETL, and visualization, and has a strong background in Kubernetes, AWS, and Terraform. Currently, Richard works as both a Data Engineer III and Network Developer III at GitHub, where he assists customers with GHES and GitHub Operations. In the past, he has worked as a Staff DevOps Engineer at Impinj and a Network Developer III at Charter Communications. Richard holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, a Master's degree in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services from Texas A&M University–Central Texas, and a Master's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from Texas A&M University–Central Texas. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities and an Associate’s degree in General Studies from Texas A&M University–Central Texas and Temple College, respectively. Richard is a versatile and experienced professional who is always eager to take on new challenges. He is a quick learner and adapts easily to new environments.
