Rishi Kumar is a candidate for the United States Congress in 2022, with a strong support base of 127,000 votes in the 2020 general election from Silicon Valley's CA-18. He has a proven track record of success, having won the 2018 re-election run with the highest vote count in any election in the 60-year election history of Saratoga. Rishi's background in mechanical engineering and his technological literacy, fiscal moderation, and Silicon Valley pragmatism with a "getting things done attitude" make him the ideal candidate to represent the innovation agenda of Silicon Valley in Congress. He believes in making choices that work best for the people and the long-term economic vitality and success of the region. In addition to his political career, Rishi has also served as an Advisory Board member at Solix Technologies, where he led the company's strategic growth initiatives and innovated strategic vertical solutions with NLP (Tensor Flow, Watson), Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Blockchain geared for the enterprise. He has also worked with Cloudera, Hortonworks, MapR, NTTData, Minio, Cohesity, and Oracle Public Cloud as the head of strategic alliances. Before entering politics, Rishi worked in the field of mechanical engineering. He holds an M.S from the University of Connecticut in Mechanical Engineering. He also attended the Sol Price School of Public Policy at the University of Southern California for Executive Education Forum - Public Policy Education for Elected Leaders and completed Continuing Education in Cloud Services at Stanford University. Rishi's experience as a council member of Saratoga has been remarkable. He reduced burglaries by 41% (DA's data) or 47% (Santa Clara County Sheriff data) from 2016 to 2017, rejected, reduced, or suspended seven water rate increases, and was part of the governing body of the city responsible for providing policy/legislative direction. He was responsible for setting policy/ordinances around capital improvement projects, public safety, major projects or repairs, land use development, and strategic planning. He also managed budgets and developed a strategic/long-range vision for Saratoga's future-community goals. Rishi's tech stack includes Big Data, ML, Blockchain, AI, infra, and Python. With 24.46 years of relevant experience, Rishi is the perfect candidate to represent Silicon Valley in Congress.
