Ritesh Kumar is a Senior Engineering Manager at Sumo Logic with over 10 years of experience in the software industry. He is a problem solver by heart and a leader by profession, currently managing the full-stack Billing team at Sumo Logic. He is responsible for new user sign-ups, partner integrations, provisioning customers, self-servicing, billing, and other related tasks. Additionally, he is leading a few Platform UI initiatives in the direction of API-based UX, and he is a big promoter of platform thinking. Ritesh has a passion for mentoring people and growing talent. He has grown the UI team in Sumo Logic to three-fold by setting up an interview process and closely working with the hiring team. He loves experimenting and putting structure into the team with proper processes, which drive the team to success and put continuous effort into evolving these processes from time to time. He is a great fan of Agile methodologies like the Scrum model, which has helped his teams achieve extreme effectiveness, productivity, and focus by religiously following it. Ritesh also has good experience working cross-geo (three sites) and cross-teams. He has learned some techniques to make this collaboration work and believes that it needs a lot of dedication from all the sites involved. Although Ritesh is not a product designer, he has a good sense of design. His experience has taught him how to keep things simple and easy to consume, and he generally loves to involve in design discussions. He has a deep love for Frontend (Javascript) and has spent almost five years working with Frontend mostly on almost all frameworks like React, Ember, Angular, Backbone, and Nodejs. He loves going deep into the framework and learning the best things that they offer. Also, he has worked on build tools like Webpack, Grunt. He likes ES6, Typescript. In the course of a few years in Sumo Logic, Ritesh has almost touched every part of the Frontend here and learned how to build apps that scale. Recently, he has been trying his hands on Scala and backend technologies. He remains hungry and keeps improving his skills as a manager as well as a technical person.
